CLASS DESCRIPTION: In Dynamic Phrasing we enter into dialogue with our own body by nourishing the diversity inherent in our nature and harnessing the power of gravity. This dialogue is enhanced by rigorous and multidimensional exercises and a deep passion for movement. Dynamic Phrasing is a journey that takes us to the limits of our body's capacity to reveal the roots and core of our being. Dynamic Phrasing was initiated 15 years ago by Maciej Kuźmiński and is the choreographers’ main tool for creation and communicating with his dancers. The method comprises complimentary 5 Pillars: I – the Loop, II – movement research, III – phrases & repertoire, IV – floor work, V – Task Basket re-composition. Dynamic Phrasing strengthens dancers' versatility, developing a broad dance language, based on various shades and rhythms, as well as introducing a powerful and flowing movement capacity.

Maciej Kuźmiński

Maciej Kuźmiński, born in 1985, is a Polish choreographer, pedagogue and producer. His independent works form the repertoire of Maciej Kuźmiński Company. He is the first Polish alumnus of the Trinity Laban Conservatory in London, where he completed BA Dance Theater and MA Choreography Studies. Since 2014, Kuźmiński's works have been presented more than 300 times in 22 countries. The choreographer has won more than thirty international prizes and awards for his performances created for the Maciej Kuźmiński Company. Since 2009, Maciej has been developing an original method for movement and composition called 'Dynamic Phrasing', which forms the basis of his artistic work. In recent years, Dynamic Phrasing has been taught at conservatories such as Codarts, ArtEZ, Fontys, PERA GAU, IDA Anton Bruckner Privatuniversität, Belgrade Dance Institute, Trinity Laban and the University of Calgary. In January 2023, two new Dynamic Phrasing teachers were introduced after a one-year teacher training course. Maciej Kuźmiński has been based in Rotterdam since August 2023.
