Land Before Time Movement Masterclass

Class Description:
The workshop will focus on improvisation work based on a connection without direct physical contact. How can we experience the sensation of connection and the mutual understanding of the next movement through improvisation? Water is the inspiration to form the flows and currents, therefore Land Before Time will share some ideas and concepts on their practice developed and inspired by water. Slow motion, popping, isolations are some of the techniques that will be used.
Workshop Target Audience: 16+ years
Level of Experience Required: Preferably with movement experience. No specific dance style required

Joanna Holewa Chrona

Joanna Holewa Chrona is a dancer, choreographer, project leader, and DJ based in Sweden and South Africa. Her dance practice is influenced by various movement traditions, ranging from the technically demanding and politically charged dance style of popping from the US to isiPantsula, Sabar, and Afro-Cuban dance from South Africa, Senegal and Cuba. Joanna's passion and motivation stem from the purity, honesty, and freedom found in improvisation, as well as her love for music, connecting with people, and viewing art as a healing and revolutionary force. Together with Yared Tilahun Cederlund she makes up the duo Land Before Time to, co-founded the non-profit organiSation AFIA with Theresa Gustavsson, and performs as a DJ under the name Shuwana. AFIA produces cultural events and stage performances, with a vision to honor and spotlight African cultures, particularly through the 'Afia Festival' established in 2016.
Yared Tilahun Cederlund

Yared Tilahun Cederlund is a performer, a choreographer and a music composer. In 2006–2013 Yared was active in the Battle scene, taking part in Streetstar (Sweden) and Juste Debout (France). In recent years, he has participated as a dancer in a variety of performances, such as Idiom and Drone by Erik Linghede, Mental States of Sweden in Dance by Mattias Andersson with the Cullberg Ballet, Raised on Rhythm by Niki Tsappos, and Festen by Viktor Fröjd, Kontakt by Lisa Janbell, "This That Unravels" by Björn Säfsten. He is also the choreographer of the series of performances PULS. As a music composer, Yared has composed works such as “Sorry” and “YES” by Bam Bam Frost, “YEBO YES!” by Afia, among others. Through dance and movement, Yared found connection and a deep interest for music and sound. His compositions vary from groove based beats to more fluid soundscapes and melodies.

Class Description:
In this workshop, given by the co-directors of Led Silhouette and performers of Los Perros, we offer an introduction to the physical work of the company and the specific movement tools developed during the creative process of the piece, where the idea and dramaturgy behind this work come into contact with the unmistakable style of Marcos Morau.

Jon López & Martxel Rodríguez

Jon López is a performer and co-director of Led Silhouette. After graduating from the Real Conservatorio Profesional de Danza Mariemma in Madrid, he began his career at the Ballet de la Generalitat Valenciana. Since
2015 he has been part of the Catalonian company La Veronal, directed by Marcos Morau, participating in different productions as a dancer and assistant of said choreographer. Voronia, Pasionaria and Firmamento are works that have been performed on an international tour of theaters such as Sadler's Wells in London, the National Theater of Chaillot in Paris, Grand Teatre de la Ville in Luxembourg, the Schaubühne in Berlin, Teatros del Canal (Madrid), the Mercat de les Flors (Barcelona) and the Teatre Lliure (Barcelona). He has participated in different projects by companies such as Taiat Dansa, Cia Vero Cendoya and Kukai Dantza, among others.
Martxel Rodríguez is a performer and co-director of Led Silhouette. After training at different dance schools in the Basque Country and graduating in Physics, he started his career at Dantzaz Konpainia in 2013, working with choreographers such as Itzik Galili and Jone San Martin. In 2014 he travelled to Holstebro (Denmark) to work at the Black Box Dance Company and attended, at the same time, the Gaga Winter Course in Tel Aviv. In 2015 he returned to the Basque Country to be part of the Oskara project, a collaboration between Kukai Dantza and Marcos Morau - La Veronal. He was nominated for Best Male Performer at the 2017 MAX Awards for this successful work. At the 2018 DNA Festival he participated in GALA by Jérôme Bel. In 2019 he was nominated as Best Dancer at the Valencian Community’s Performing Arts Award for Canvas of Bodies by Taiat Dansa. In that same year he earned a Master's Degree in Cultural Management from the Open University of Catalonia. In 2021 he received the Navarrese Award for the Promotion of Artistic Talent. He works on the production team of La Veronal, in charge of the external creations of Marcos Morau in places like the Theaterhaus Stuttgart, Ballett Zürich, Opera de Lyon, Centro Cultural de Belem, Staatsballett Berlin, NDT, Ballet Nacional de España (National Ballet of Spain), Deutsche Oper am Rhein, NDCWales and Atterballetto.

Relaxation vs. Tension in Motion

Class Description:
Based on Kuo Chueh-Kai’s extensive physical practice, this workshop explores the core themes of "relaxation" and "tension." Through guided techniques and imagination, participants will seek the extreme values of both states—ranging from "0" to "100"—while practicing how to layer, transition, and shift between them during movement.

KUO Chueh-kai

Based in Taiwan, Kuo Chueh-Kai is the co-founder of Nonlybody. He graduated from the National Taiwan University of Arts and the renowned Tsoying Senior High School Dance Department. Since joining Hung Dance in 2018, Kuo has toured extensively across Europe, the Americas, and Asia. He received the Audience Choice Award at the New York Dance Gallery Festival for the duo version of See You. As a choreographer, Kuo has gained significant international acclaim. His solo work Tame won the Audience Choice Award at MASDANZA 2023, while his 2024 creation, Pua̍h-pue—Divination Blocks, was nominated for the 23rd Taishin Arts Award. Most recently, in 2025, his work “Toward Equilibrium” swept six awards at the Stray Birds Dance Platform.
